With Thanksgiving right around the corner, literally it's next week and I can't believe how fast time flies, I am making this month Thanksgiving month. Which means ideas on decorating, recipes, and reasons to be thankful as well as fun ideas on what to do with left overs and activities. Basically anything fun under the frost bitten sun. Along with funny pictures of "no shave November" that a fellow guy friend told me to do as well!

Road Trip
Say you have been dating a while and your wanting to take a next step, but still test the waters a bit. Then a road trip with your sweetie is just the thing. Road trips can really show a person's true colors and will test the limits and can be a make it or break it for any relationship. I mean sitting in a car with someone for hours can have you get to know one another real well. And the best part is road trips don't always have to cost and arm and a leg either! Even a small trip camping is always refreshing. Check out the local fire restrictions and see if you can build a camp fire and make smores, or tin foil dinners.

Not your typical dinner...
- Go on a picnic, but choose somewhere extremely random--like on your roof, roof of your car, on a staircase in the city, etc. It has a different twist to an average picnic.
- Have a progressive meal. Create a list of different restaurants in the area and place them into a hat or bowl. Next create a list of categories for the meal, i.e. an appetizer, dessert, main course, drink, etc. and place into a separate bowl or hat. Choose one from each and go to that restaurant for that category of the meal. If you want you can even go out of order and start with dessert first will put a twist on it too!
- Set up a tent in your front room, sit in the tent and eat dinner on a blanket. It takes outdoors to the indoors. You can even build a fake fire, or roast marshmallows over a candle or gas burner.
- Make your own personal pizzas with tortillas, marinara sauce and cheese and whatever toppings you like!
- Lay trash bags on the floor and eat spaghetti together with your hands. No utensils needed! You can also be a little romantic and try to feed each other, it might get messy, but it's tons of fun!
- Make homemade ice cream together. There are many different super easy recipes online.
- Make Cupcakes together. Decorate them with icing, sprinkles, or anything.
- Buy plain vanilla ice cream and then both of you have to pick out two random ingredients, but they have to be secret. When you get home mix together in a blender and see what you get. For example one person picks out banana, and peanut butter and the other person has chocolate and strawberries. Mix all together and taste it! Sometimes your taste buds might surprise you!

Best Simple BBQ Rubs
Summer time is always notorious for great grilling and BBQ's and the right seasoning can be essential to help enhance the natural flavors of the meats. Today's post is dedicated to the simple yet delicious rubs that you can make right at home.
1)Basic Homemade Rub Recipe. What you'll need:
1/2 cup Garlic Powder
1/2 cup Salt
1/2 cup Black Pepper
Directions:
All you need to do is simply place the ingredients in a bowl and stir well to mix thoroughly. It is highly recommended that you use freshly ground black pepper and coarse salt. Kosher salt or sea salt work best.
You should rub the meat with the seasonings about ten minutes before you plan on BBQing the meat. This rub recipe is great because it is made entirely from from common kitchen spices. This makes it easy to whip up at the last minute or when you are short on time.
2)Homemade Hot and Sweet Rub Recipe For Pork Ribs. What you'll need:
1 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Chili Powder
1 tbsp Salt
1 tbsp Black Pepper
2 tsp Garlic Powder
2 tsp Onion Powder
Directions:
Simply mix the ingredients together in a bowl. You may want to transfer the rub to a plate if you are going to cook ribs. This way you can set the ribs on the plate while you season them. It's a lot easier than using a bowl.
If you are going to use this rub to cook a whole chicken, be sure to try and get as much rub as possible under the skin. This way the seasoning will not fall off while you are cooking and the meat, rather than the skin, will get most of flavor. You only need to apply this rub about twenty minutes before cooking the meat.

3)Homemade Sweet and Spicy Rub Recipe For Beef Ribs. What you'll need:
1 cup Brown Sugar
3 tbsp Garlic Powder
3 tbsp Black Pepper
2 tbsp Salt
2 tbsp Chili Powder
1/2 tsp Cumin (Ground)
1/2 tsp Thyme
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 Bay Leaf (Dry, Crushed). Directions:
Simply mix the ingredients in a bowl. You may want to transfer the rub to plate if you plan on using it for ribs.
This rub should be applied about 3 hours before you plan on cooking. A good tip is to wrap the meat in plastic wrap after you have applied the rub. Then, place the meat in the refrigerator. This will help prevent the rub from drying out. Be sure to take the meat out of the refrigerator in enough time to allow it to warm to room temperature before grilling.
